This month, with a little spring in our step, we’ve rounded up packing tips, places to stay and see if you find yourself with a few extra hours to spend on your next business trip to Washington, D.C.

WHAT TO PACK

Spring is in the air, but it’s not always easy to pack for unpredictable weather this time of year. Here’s what we suggest for a few days in Washington.

A lightweight trench in case it rains

Wrinkle-free blouse

A spring-weight wrap to work double-duty for style and warmth

A cashmere sweater

A statement necklace to show that you mean business

Fitted blazer that can transition from work to cocktails

Wrinkle-free trousers

Heels to switch into for meetings and evening events

A pair of comfortable, flats to walk between meetings

You can’t leave Washington without a visit to the Watergate Hotel’s Next Whisky Bar. You you can pretend you are starring in Mad Men with its ‘60s inspired design and a cocktail list so swanky you’ll want to take it home as a souvenir.
