DON’T GET CARRIED AWAY – THE CARDINAL RULES OF CARRY-ON

With knowledge, comes simplicity. Knowing what (and what not) to pack in your carry-on inevitably contributes to a smoother, less-hassled travel experience. With our Quartermaster, Ebby Rane’s luxury carry-on luggage for women and The Homme for men, all your essentials are neatly tucked away in their own carry-alls. This makes reaching for them before and during the flight, a breeze.

Here are the dos (and don’ts) of packing The Quartermaster and its companion, The Valise (or The Wingman for the guys):

Liquids Carryall and The Wingman Interior

KEEP LIQUIDS TO 3.4 OZ BOTTLES

Anything over this will be discarded. Exceptions to this include insulin and baby formula. The Quartermaster’s clear plastic container is perfect for storing those travel sized bottles of liquids, gels, creams and pastes, and prevents spillage. Shaving foams, sprays and lipsticks are all considered liquids. If your liquid medication is over 3.4 ozs, make sure to carry a letter from your medical professional.

Our spectacular Valise and Wingman have two compartments for water bottles, once you’ve passed through security.

Tech Carryall and The Valise Bag Interior

DON’T LET ELECTRONICS OUT OF YOUR SIGHT

Luckily, your laptop, tablet and other electronics can easily be placed in and removed from the magnet enclosed sleeve in The Valise. This makes going through security a stress-free process.

Electronic cigarettes and vaping devices are allowed on carry-on luggage only.

Our special tech case for chargers and international adapters is the perfect assistant, reminding you collate everything you need to acclimatize to a new environment.

KNOW THE LATEST ON LITHIUM BATTERIES

Cellphone batteries, laptop batteries, portable rechargers (or power banks) and regular batteries used in most devices around the home are safe for travel. They must be packed in carry-on and the + and – terminals must not be allowed to connect. Ebby Rane’s decision to steer clear of the now-banned “smart luggage” with its built-in battery chargers, proved a timeless wisdom.

KEEP JEWELLERY TUCKED AWAY

If it’s not on your body it should be out of sight. It will remain snug in our special packing case, marked jewelry.

DON’T GO OVERBOARD ON MAKEUP

This is important keeping in mind the liquid restriction. However, it’s equally important to keep freshness at your fingertips, especially if you’re rushing to a business meeting the minute you disembark. Wet wipes, travel-size moisturizers and toothpastes fit nicely in the vanity case. Within the vanity case itself, a cosmetics bag will hold all you need to bring the blush back to your cheeks and the sparkle to your eyes after a long flight.
